📖 An era of ink and genius: The Omega Fountain Pen Company was founded in Milan in 1930 by Alfredo Verga, co-founder of Columbus in 1919. The first Omega fountain pens used a push-button filling system. Later, the company introduced the “Supernova” model, engraved with “Omega Supernova Marca Depositata AVM” (AVM stands for Alfredo Verga Milano). Celluloid, the first thermoplastic resin invented in 1863, revolutionized the world of writing with its lightness, elasticity, and color brilliance. Used by historic brands, it requires long drying times and complex craftsmanship. It remains one of the most fascinating materials ever used to create fountain pens, capable of making each piece unique over time.
