📖 An era of ink and genius: the Omega Fountain Pen Company was founded in Milan in 1930 by Alfredo Verga, former co-founder of Columbus in 1919. The first Omega fountains adopted the button loading system. Subsequently, the company introduced the “Supernova” model, with engravings such as “Omega Supernova Marca Depositata AVM” (AVM stands for Alfredo Verga Milano). The celluloid, the first thermoplastic resin invented in 1863, has revolutionized the world of writing with its lightness, elasticity and chromatic brilliance. Used by historical brands, it requires long drying times and complex craftsmanship. It remains one of the most fascinating materials ever used for the creation of fountains, capable of making each specimen unique over time.
