VINTAGE OTOMAN STILOGRAPHY PLUMA WITH IMPERIAL TUGHRA Artesanal stylus pen handmade by fathers during the Ottoman Empire, built between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The object recalls the attention of its finely gilt metal body with a floral motif and the precious tughra (imperial caligráfica signature), attributable to Sultan Abdulhamid II (1842-1918) . He remembers them as the last great absolute sultan before the reign of the modern Ottoman Parliament. Below, an elaborate artistic and symbolic language was spread, which also included the use of imperial monograms (tughra), complete calligraphy and floral symbols with political and spiritual meaning.
In the government it dated from 31 August 1876 to 27 April 1909 with its deposit by the Young Turks.
The tip with a needle in the shape of corazón and oriental writing attests to the refinement of the Ottoman caligraphy, while the ring at the base suggests daily use by some of the official writers. A pen that is not just a writing instrument, but an authentic relic of a refined civilization.

📖 An era of color and genius: In the heart of the last glory of the Ottoman Empire, writing was sacred. Sultan Abdülhamid II (1842-1918) was the 34th ruler of the Ottoman Empire and reigned from 1876 to 1909. Central figure of the late Empire, known for his authoritarian style of government but also for the modernization of the State and its depths cultural and infrastructural transformations. He was the promoter of major infrastructure projects, including the famous Hijaz railway, and a champion of science and education.
